Laoshi Xiao Shen

Laoshi Xiao Shen was the first novice in the Shaolin Temple Europe. Nowadays he trains the disciples and novices in Sanda and Kung Fu. He is an expert when it comes to movement.

Throughout his life time he was teacher in various disciplines for old and young and also took part in competitions. E.g. Hip Hop and Krump in dancing and Kick Boxing and Wing Tschun in martial arts.

Shi Xiao Long

Shi Xiao Long (Thanh) became a novice in 2010 when he was 17 years old for 5,5 years. His goals in the temple were to learn 1. discipline; 2. why people live as monks; 3. what happiness means and 4. how to become your best version, especially your character, mind and emotions.

While building his life on Shaolin principles, he studied fitness and nutrition and is based in Dubai, traveling and exploring the world. Nowadays, he leads the online team of Shaolin.Online and teaches people how to apply Shaolin principles in their daily lives.

Shi Miao Hai

Shi Miao Hai was born in 1997. He joined Shaolin Temple Europe at 19 and was ordained as a novice in August 2019 after the 2-year discipleship and belongs to the 36th generation of Shaolin.

Despite his young age, he always impresses people with his friendly, open and compassionate nature and helps you a lot with his advice. In addition to meditation and Buddhist teachings, his interests include martial arts, especially Qi Gong and the combination of external and internal martial arts.

- I am more confident, more joyful. In general, I have become more efficient -

Through the Self Mastery course, the movement in the shoulder girdle has become freer and I am beginning to notice an opening of the chest, and an increase in my breathing volume. I feel more stable and can walk with a slightly longer stride. I have the impression that blockages are loosening. My "mood" has improved. I gradually see things in my personal environment more clearly and recognize and understand connections better. This has an influence on my behavior. I am more confident, more joyful. What I found very helpful, to name a few points more specifically:
- the always same routine every month and therefore every week, helped me a lot to develop routine and to keep track.
- The routine schedules with indication of the type of task and practice period have saved a lot of "you have to think about it" saved.
- the exact task like "8 times a day for the next 21 days" gave me the chance to spend more time on one exercise. This way I was never under time pressure and learned how rewarding it is to dwell on one thing.

Hello, I'm Hanny (J.M.) Keulers, 74 years old, residing here in Greece. Today, I'd like to share my profound experience with Shaolin Online. As a thinker, translator, and writer, I've led a life in solitude, grappling with depression. Yet, recently, I made a decisive choice to break free from its grip.
Chronic back pain and my history as a smoker presented additional challenges. On the physical level I was struggling with the degenerative effects of Sjögren's syndrome and Raynauld phenomenon, in addition to lower back problems. On the mental level, I received a diagnosis of PTSD, which could be the cause of constant anxiety and sporadic episodes of depressive mood. I had difficulty to deal with the loss of loved ones, and for over two decades I watched the negative mental activity (guilty, grief) worsening with time.
Following the course I can feel improvements in every single aspect. Despite the struggles with disciplining and creating a routine (which I am still working on) I was able to develop my practice enough to stop feeling the pain in the back, and to align my whole body structure, to develop my muscles, my posture has improved immensely - and I feel that it will become perfect once I manage to follow a constant routine of daily practice. People here in Brazil even stop calling "senhora" (old lady) and started calling me você (you). :) The theory classes reminded me of important lessons that I have been receiving in my journey, and also brought new insights specially about Buddhism, which I did not know much. I would love to keep learning from Abbot Shi Heng Zong. The meditation sessions also have been fantastic, even though I have been trying to explore the subject for ages, I am now finally incorporating them into my daily routine, thanks to the encouragement of Shi Miao Hai. He enlightened me about the practical effects of meditation in our mind and behaviour.

Instead of feeling hopeless as it happened before, now I am able to remind myself that progress is not a straight line up, but a journey made of many ups and downs, and I am looking forward to keep advancing each day more towards my goal. When I started the Self-Mastery program, I was dealing with a lot of anxiety, rumination and racing thoughts. I, Yehoshua Zohar, at 69 years old, hailing from Israel, married, a father of 4 adult children, and a proud grandfather of 7, want to share my transformative journey with Shaolin Online. It all began at the end of 2020 during a lockdown when, while engaging in calisthenics and Yoga on YouTube, I stumbled upon the Shaolin Temple Europe through a fortuitous recommendation. On the physical level I was struggling with the degenerative effects of Sjögren's syndrome and Raynauld phenomenon, in addition to lower back problems. On the mental level, I received a diagnosis of PTSD, which could be the cause of constant anxiety and sporadic episodes of depressive mood. People here in Brazil even stop calling "senhora" (old lady) and started calling me você (you). :) The theory classes reminded me of important lessons that I have been receiving in my journey, and also brought new insights specially about Buddhism, which I did not know much. I would love to keep learning from Abbot Shi Heng Zong. The meditation sessions also have been fantastic, even though I have been trying to explore the subject for ages, I am now finally incorporating them into my daily routine, thanks to the encouragement of Shi Miao Hai. He enlightened me about the practical effects of meditation in our mind and behaviour.

Instead of feeling hopeless as it happened before, now I am able to remind myself that progress is not a straight line up, but a journey made of many ups and downs, and I am looking forward to keep advancing each day more towards my goal. Hello, I'm Hanny (J.M.) Keulers, 74 years old, residing here in Greece. Today, I'd like to share my profound experience with Shaolin Online. - I suspected that there would be some kind of change, but that it would be like this, I didn't even think about it -

I signed up for self-mastery because I wanted to change my life, especially in terms of self-control and my health. During that year, from the beginning of self-mastery to the end, I changed above all myself. From my point of view, my biggest change is that I am much calmer, and I wonder about it myself. :-D Things that would have thrown me off or pissed me off a year ago leave me cold today. I stopped dealing with nonsense. To my delight, today I can deal better with the people around me. Especially at work. In terms of my health, it has improved in that my asthma has improved and it's probably weird, but my hair is falling out a lot less. :-) I learned to focus more on what I'm doing. I perceive more my every movement, breath, touch with the surroundings. So, to sum it up, I am much more sensitive, both to myself and to those around me, for which I am incredibly grateful to all of Shaolin Temple Europe, because without self-mastery, my life would be the same as before.
I don't know if I can say what I liked the most. Because I liked everything I learned all year. The most relaxing and calming thing for me is meditation. I really fell in love with you. It's my nightly bedtime routine. Above all, my expectations were exceeded by the fact that I can be much calmer than I was a year ago. I definitely recommend Shaolin.Online. I actually do it in practice. Mostly at work when people ask me about the changes they have noticed in me.
